DaleAnthony.com Version 2

Welcome to the brand new, slightly later than planned version of DaleAnthony.com. As well as the visual change I’ve also finally added the portfolio and about pages.
I originally planned to launch this version for the new year, but due to a sudden demand of work I’ve only just managed to get everything launched.
For those of you who think the website looks a bit strange, it’s probably because you are still using Internet Explorer 6, which I’ve decided this website will not support, so if you want a better browsing experience (not only with this website but with every other website on the internet) try downloading firefox, it’s free so you have nothing to loose, I will even settle for you upgrading to Internet Explorer 7, that just about does the job as well.
I’ll be adding more to the about and portfolio pages over the coming days, at the moment the about page is quite simple and my full range of work isn’t available in the portfolio, however these areas do have content in them so I would be grateful if you could take a few minutes of your time to look through them.
I’ve also left out my twitter updates for now, the main reason being I acutally have no idea where to put the twitter block. My twitter statuses are something I want to be seen from most pages, but I just can’t think of a space to put them without making things look cluttered, so if you have any suggestions please do let me know.
Don’t forget to add the RSS feed to your feed reader and if you are feeling extra friendly please go ahead and leave a comment. Oh and… if you do happen to notice any errors or bugs please let me know so I can sort them.
A more exciting and lengthy post will follow this one shortly.

dont u think its a bit stupid purposely not supporting ie6?
Not at all, the internet has moved on, Microsoft provide IE7 as a free upgrade and this website is mainly viewed by people using browsers other than IE6.
Don’t you think it’s stupid to use a browser that don’t respect web standars? I’m with you dale, IE(6) is yesterday…
quite slick dale. and i’m, with you too about that IE6 issue.
I think it would be a bit stupid to support IE6! And it would be far more stupid to surf the web with IE6. So, yeah.
Anyways, I wanted to stop by and say that it’s obvious you gained inspiration from the work of Elliot Jay Stocks.
I think it looks great.
Cheers for the comments guys.
@Josh Stodola - I’ve had a few other people say there are similarities between my website and the wonderful Elliot Jay Stocks website, therefore to avoid upsetting people i’ve changed the background and moved away from the ‘brown’ colour scheme (which might have been causing the problem) to the new green ’space’ theme, comments on the new background would be great.
I like the new background. It’s a very interesting color. It’s like blue, green, and gray. Good combination!
Although, at parts it is kinda blurry, which is unfortunate.
I really like your new site; what font are you using for your header? (daleanthony)
@Kevin - The font is called Marcelle Script, it’s a free one - http://www.dafont.com/marcelle.font
Your black ‘continue reading’ images on the homepage need some transparency mate.
I can see the rounded corner effect you’re going for, but you’ve not set the transparency correctly so you’re left with nasty looking corners :(
Re-export those images and replace them and it’ll be looking better :)
@Cam… I changed the background a while back and forgot to change those images, thanks for pointing that out ;)
I love this design! I’d love to be able to use it on my personal blog at http://www.bannedwidth.org. It’s exactly what i’ve been looking for for weeks. Space, transparencies, minimal, with flickr, last.fm, and twitter boxes on the bottom. It’s very similar to the boring hemingway theme i’m using now. Is there any way you’d allow this?
I support not supporting IE6, and IE7 to be honest. For IE6, which has been around for over almost a decade, look at it as any other piece of software. Could you imagine calling up tech support for the original Duke Nukem?! They would laugh in your face, or how about Microsoft Word 2001?
I actually had my site redirect to tub girl if you tried to get into my site on IE6 ;P
Have your say
